Different types of floors to put in your apartment

Nowadays, the variety of floors that exist to decorate your apartments is wide and great. Each day, there are more types, colors, and materials that can be used in your floors. The type of floors and its color will depend not only on your taste, but in the type of apartment you want to have, and that if it suits the type of decoration of the apartment in general.

For this reason, we will now mention some of the types ofloors you will find, in order you analyze which suits your needs best.

Ceramic floors: A ceramic floor is mostly chosen for apartments and houses. This is due mainly to its resistance and price. Also, they usually don’t require an intensive care and they are easy to install. When you are choosing ceramics, you should check they are resistant to erosion and scratches (which is measured through the “Mohs scale” –the higher, the more resistant). The quality and type of ceramics you may install will depend on the room you are planning to install it, the conditions of the floor, and the temperature and humidity of the room.

Stoneware floors: This type of floor is becoming really popular, specially the type which is most resistant to abrasion and scratches, due to its composition. Of course that the price of the latter is more expensive than other types.

Wooden floors: Wooden floors are usually more expensive than other types of floors, and they usually require a special care. Nonetheless, the warm feeling that it generates in a space cannot be compared to anything. Likewise, once the wooden floor has been placed (since it is the most complicated thing about choosing this type of floor), it lasts for a long time, and it is only a matter of keeping it in good conditions so that it lasts longer.

Laminate floors: This type of floor is an imitation of wooden floors, but they are cheaper and easier to install. There are different types of laminate floors, for big spaces, very busy places, and there are also many formats. Of course, there are also different types of quality, and that will influence on the price.

Smooth concrete floor: The good thing about smooth concrete floors is that you can put it in any type of surface. Likewise, it is ease to install and you will also avoid the dust and dirt from a regular work that other floors require when installed. Even though it is not as even as other floors, there are many colors and designs that make this type of flooring much more adaptable when it comes to decorating or renovating.

Carpet floors: Besides being expensive, according to the type of carpet you choose, this type of floor has its pros and cons. Even though the feeling on your feet when you walk or when you lay down is unique, when it comes to cleaning, problems may appear, since they usually have lots of hairs, and the like. Nevertheless, carpets give a unique warm atmosphere to the rooms.

As you can see, there is a great range of floors to put in your apartment; it will all depend on the amount of people that will go through there, the type of decoration you want to use, your likes, and how much you want to spend.
