Palermo neighborhood, in the city of Buenos Aires, is really picturesque and attractive for tourists, as well as for residents. Both during the day or at night, the streets of Palermo fill with people searching to go out, have a drink, eat something, go shopping, among others…
The neighborhood of Palermo is divided into several sections: Palermo, Palermo Soho (which used to be Palermo Viejo), and Palermo Hollywood are some of them. Each of these sections has something different to offer. Even though Palermo Hollywood may not be that attractive for tourism, since it is an area of TV production companies, TV studios and radios, it is nice and it allows you to move around the city.
The perfect and most beautiful place of Palermo to rent temporarily in Buenos Aires probably is Palermo Soho (especially for young tourists). Here, you will find both day and night life: bars, restaurants, shops with well-known trades and some designers’ shops. Palermo Soho used to be known as Palermo Viejo (Old Palermo), due to the architecture of the area. There were many low-houses, long and wide (know as “chorizo houses”), typical houses from the colonial times in Buenos Aires. Nowadays, these houses have been redesigned. Besides old (yet remodeled) houses, in Palermo Soho, you will find many gourmet restaurants, designer’s clothes, bars, discos and lost of entertainment. If you choose to rent an apartment near Avenida Santa Fe, you will be near the tube stations and many bus stops, perfect to move during the day; if you stay further south to Av. Santa Fe, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful Plaza Serrano, where you can walk around day and night.
The area of Palermo, also offers a great variety of places to eat, go shopping (you will find the great Alto Palermo Shopping Mall), or simply go walking. Moreover, if you rent temporarily in Palermo, you will be near the many tourists attraction the neighborhood offers. Some of these attractions are: The "Jardin Botanico" [Botanical garden]; the gorgeous “Jardín Japonés” [Japanese Garden]; The Zoo of Buenos Aires; The MALBA (Latin-American Art Museum of Buenos Aires) and its amazing art expositions; the Planetarium, where you can enjoy a view to the universe; the “Bosques de Palermo” [Palermo woods]; among many other places.
As you can see, the neighborhood of Palermo has a lot to offer, so it can be an interesting place to rent your apartment during your visit around the city of Buenos Aires.
